![]() The other game that has been filling the endless hours spent at home is actually two games, Bioware's Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series. The only real "flaw" to the game is that it came out one year too early to include the vaunted draft class of 2003. There's no basketball gaming experience quite like crushing your opponent's will (and swinging the score by as many as six points) with a Level 2 gamebreaker. It took the outlandish gameplay formula that NBA Jam introduced and expanded on it, making ballhandling tricks and fancy passing just as critical as dunks and 3s. While I find myself bored with the slog that the NBA 2K series has become (and disillusioned with its endless array of microtransactions), Street V2 remains a fun gaming experience even two decades later. 2 on the PS2, which I will forever consider to be the best basketball video game ever made. Capcom 2 on the Dreamcast, I find myself gravitating toward two games in particular. Adam Reisinger for ESPNĪnd as much fun as it is to break out the NES for some Mike Tyson's Punch-Out action (0 is forever ingrained in my memory) or to get taken for a ride with Marvel vs. To wit: NBA editor Adam Reisinger is a bit of a gamer. To say I have a few options when it comes to retro gaming is to say the 2016-17 Golden State Warriors had a few good players. And all gameplay accessible at your fingertips. Tons of options to toggle your preferences between a modern style of play and classic. Easy toggle to and from classic and remaster. This was just released, and it should be a template for other publishers in how to remaster an older game. It has received some criticism due to the omission of certain original multiplayer features and false advertisement in overpromising features that weren't there, but as a purely visual remaster, it's top notch.Ĭommand & Conquer Remastered: The original RTS game that arguably helped make others popular. Warcraft III Remastered: A fantastic real-time strategy game that I played for well over 10 years when it came out in 2002, and the remastered version enhances the visuals, making it easy to get back into. That includes the Final Fantasy VII Remake, which, I'm told, is beautifully made. ![]() I wanted to revisit the classics from NES, SNES, PlayStation and PlayStation 2 before playing the most recent games on the modern machines. I haven't delved into FF14 much yet, but I have recently completed FF13.
